 INTRO
They say of Alfaz del Pi, that it is a place where the world would like to live. Alfaz del Pi looks after and lives with its environment, which is the best way to acquire balance and happiness.
Alfaz does not only respect the different cultures of its cosmopolitan population, what’s more, it promotes and stimulates any artistic, linguistic or social expression, giving a wide scope to all the customs of its citizens.
The privileged location of Alfaz del Pi, of equal distance between Altea and Benidorm makes our municipality an ideal place for residence and family life.
In the seventies, with the development of tourism – a satellite for the Benidorm tourism - , Alfaz del Pi experienced a strange and spectacular change; people from different European countries – especially Nordic countries – visited it, fell in love with it and stayed.

The greenness – from the pine tops – blends in with the blueness of its quiet clean beach (Playa del Albir); with its beautiful rustic cliffs, leading to the rich fertile areas of the allotments…all within the reduced area of 19 sq. km. of the municipality.
To the east of its territorial limits, we can see LA SIERRA HELADA, which guarantees a microclimate known for its healthy beneficial effects, with mild winters, the absence of sudden climatic changes, mild and invigorating temperatures and an average relative humidity of 65%.
There are unique environmental factors to set up a family residence; a fantastic view of Altea and El
Peñon de Ifach, which is easily seen from Playa del Albir.
To the west, the gentle waves denote the end of the Iberian range, whose highest point in the area is PUIG CAMPANA (1,240 metres). From whichever way you look at it, nature is predominant in this region

THE VILLAGE
The quiet atmosphere and facilities in the town centre gave rise to the municipality, and is a support to the numerous urbanisation and residential areas, which extend and give way to a different and independent way of life, forming small groups in which the necessary facilities are found as in any large town – supermarkets, specialised commerce, banks and post offices, social clubs, health centres, cinemas, restaurants, tourist offices and sports centres…. and the famous promenade, also known as PASEO DE LAS ESTRELLAS (Hollywood Boulevard) in the pure ‘Hollywood’ style.
In Alfaz del Pi a horizontal architecture predominates, based on its small urbanisations surrounded by green areas.

which is used as a prototype to be followed by
the advanced countries in the Mediterranean area: it is a privileged place for residential tourists to live, second residence tourists, occasional tourists and, therefore, an ideal place to make a good property investment.
Alfaz del Pi at present has a population of 15,000 inhabitants; it would be difficult to find in any other European municipality such a |
multinational population as that which exists here.
Over 52 nationalities from all over the world, from such together, native different countries as Norway, Holland, Germany, Gr. Britain, Australia, U.S.A. etc live here together. With this, we are talking of an unheard of and complex population in which the mixture of languages, cultures, ideologies and races are so diverse. An unusual mixture where the combination of Mediterranean features and attitudes, together with the rational and advanced way of thinking of the central European and Nordic countries can be found. scenery dotted with terraced crops: vines, olives trees, orange trees, lemon trees, almond trees, fig trees, carob trees, etc… being the main way of life and income for labourers and agriculturists.
In the same way, the mining of clay (ochre) in the Sierra Helada was another source of income for its inhabitants.
After a hundred and twenty five years of a difficult mining and agricultural life, with the consequent emigration of its inhabitants to South America and North Africa, at the beginning of the seventies the so called ‘tourist boom of Benidorm’ began. This gradually affected Alfaz del Pi,bringing its first visitors from all over Europe, who became regular and permanent residents.

In short, there are The Full Amenities to Practice Individual and Collective Sport, as well as the Municipal Sports Clubs, (football, basketball, athletics, cycling, frontennis, tennis, etc…) for beginners.
In the area of Playa de Albir there is also a Golf Practice Range for those who want to learn this wonderful sport, together with a Cricket Pitch, one of the few existing cricket pitches in Spain and one of the few that holds International Tournaments in this sport.
In the same way, taking advantage of the magnificent Sierra Helada, extending 6.5 km down to the sea and whose maximum height is 438 metres, gives the visitors some wonderful opportunities whilst hiking, |
mountain biking or on organised walks to see the unusual flora and fauna.
L’Alfas del Pi offers you the opportunity to Practice Nautical Sports, such as water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, etc… and even scuba diving on the wonderful seabed of the craggy cliffs of Sierra Helada.

Just as well recommended is a trip to La Villa Joiosa, 15 km. away with its singular coloured hanging houses in the old town.
Not to be missed for its beauty and hospitality is a visit to Altea, where, as part of the cultural activity, we can visit the Old White Town

crowned by its Famous Dome of the Parochial Church.
Five kilometres separate L’Alfas del Pi from the bustling festive Benidorm, with its entertainment offer.
To visit Mundomar, is to immerse oneself in the fantasy of maritime animals – dolphins – and exotic birds.
If playing in the water is what you want, a visit to Aqualandia is recommended, where the visitor becomes a fish for a day..
It is also recommended that you see the wonderful show of dance and showgirls, preceded by a succulent meal, at Benidorm Palace.
Why not enter the old Mediterranean cultures, through one of the biggest theme parks in Europe ‘Terra Mitica’, an interesting family visit, where both young and old will have fun.
